Slipped Masks … project update:

Received the proof copy of my thriller novel: Slipped Masks.
Working through some final adjustments and then the book will be available.
My wife has already read the book in manuscript form. She’s observed all the way through this creative process: from discussions of ideas, research, sources of inspiration, hand-scribbled notes, earlier drafts … right through to completion. It was a sweet moment to see her smile and the delight in her eyes, as I placed the paperback version in her hand.
Can’t wait to get to work on the first book of my detective novel series, entitled: The Breaker.
More to come.
When published, a percentage from sales will be donated to Multiple Sclerosis research.

Slipped Masks … project update:

I finished draft #3 of my thriller novel, Slipped Masks.
My target was 70,000 words.
Draft #3 finished at just over 82,000 words.

My wife read it and I’m happy I didn’t get this reaction …

I have my ISBN #s and I’m now busy on formatting the pages and cover image for print.

This week, I also established the outlines for the first two books of my detective novel series, entitled: The Breaker.

------------------------------

The back-cover blurb for Slipped Masks reads:

I can’t call you because if he hears me talking on the phone he’ll hit me again. He scares me. I know sooner or later he’s going to kill me. I’ll text you again when I can. I love you, Casey. I’ll spend the rest of our lives proving to you how much I love you. Please come. Please save me …

With only text messages to guide him, Casey Byrne is on the hunt, racing across five states to save his ex-girlfriend, Madison.

Casey loves Madison deeply and wants desperately to save her life and rekindle their relationship.

But the closer he gets to her, the more surreal his journey becomes as the dead bodies pile up in his wake.

Slipped Masks … project update:

I finished draft #2 of my thriller novel, Slipped Masks, at 10.47pm last night!

After running through a spelling/grammar check, I printed the manuscript, secured it with a large steel binder clip.

My wife’s now reading it …

… and I’m hoping she likes it.

When she’s done, I’ll give it a final read-through and edit.

In the meantime, I’m working up on the outline of the first in my detective novel series, entitled: The Breaker.

More to come.

When published, a percentage from sales will be donated to Multiple Sclerosis research.

Slipped Masks … project update:

Chapter 14 has evolved.
In the first draft, this chapter was short and the character, Casey, was considering his options, while preparing to resume the next part of his journey.
In this second draft revision, there are three murders.
I love writing thrillers!
Word count: 61,714.
More to come.

When published, a percentage from sales will be donated to Multiple Sclerosis research.

Writing Journal Entry # 12:

Now … where was I?
Yay!
I completed the first draft of my novel: Slipped Masks.

It’s a milestone moment for a writer to reach this stage.
I hit the print icon and the 186–page manuscript streamed from the printer.
It was a great moment to shuffle the pages together in a neat pile and hand it to my wife.
Now to settle in a comfy chair with a large coffee and a red pen.
Let reading and revision commence for draft # 2 …
