Henry Rollins, on writing:

If I lose the light of the sun, I will write by candlelight, moonlight, no light.
If I lose paper and ink, I will write in blood on forgotten walls.
I will always write.
I will capture nights all over the world and bring them to you.

- Henry Rollins.

Introvert insight:

I don’t mean to be arrogant and I really appreciate my fans
but talking about what I am doing is not something I’m good at.
I do what I do and that’s it.
I want to get back to my work and do more of it instead of talking about it.

– Henry Rollins.

I think a lot, but I don't say much.

– Anne Frank.

The good and the wise lead quiet lives.

– Euripides.

We introverts love to wander.
Our favorite destination for quiet explorations is our imagination.
No matter where we are, we feel called away by our own thoughts.

– from The Irresistible Introvert, by Michaela Chung.

Introvert insight:

In my quiet, I was working something out.

- Keanu Reeves.

I'm constantly around people that talk a lot but say nothing.
A sad case.

- Henry Rollins.

Do you hate people?
I don't hate them ... I just feel better when they're not around.

- Charles Bukowski.

People empty me.
I have to get away to refill.

Introvert insight:

... I also believe that introversion is my greatest strength.
I have such a strong inner life that I'm never bored and only occasionally lonely.
No matter what mayhem is happening around me, I know I can always turn inward.
- Susan Cain.

Introverts:
As long as we have our books, our imagination, and a slice of solitude, we're content.

- from The Irresistible Introvert, by Michaela Chung.

Yes, I guess you could say I am a loner,
but I feel more lonely in a crowded room with boring people than I feel on my own.

- Henry Rollins.

I withdraw from people and places from time to time.
I need space from a world that is filled with millions of mouths that talk too much but never have anything to say.

Introvert insight:

Solitude matters.
And for some people it’s the air they breathe.

– Susan Cain.

For introverts, to be alone with our thoughts is as restorative as sleeping, as nourish as eating.

– Jonathan Rauch.

People say things to me like, ‘It’s really cool that you don’t go out and get drunk all the time and go to clubs.’
I appreciate that, but I’m an introverted kind of person just by nature.

– Emma Watson.

I am primarily a loner.
I don’t go to clubs.
I don’t hang out with people.
I don’t know many people.
It’s just the way it ended up.
It’s not a sob story; it’s fine for me.

– Henry Rollins.

50!

I turned 50 … the big half-century mark … wow!
Out of curiosity, while composing this blog, I scrolled through the various fonts to see what “50!” looked like. The font in the jpeg image above is Times New Roman.
As a writer, I like the appropriate Wingdings version of a filing cabinet, paper folder, and pencil:

We celebrated two days before my birthday by seeing Henry Rollins on stage, during his Travel Slideshow tour:

We’re both fans of Henry Rollins and, as a photographer; it was great to see his photographic work while listening to his travelogue.

We spent my birthday up in the mountains. It wasn’t too cold and we enjoyed the drive, the day out, and the spectacular views. Some of the landscape and cloud photographs I took will be adapted for greeting cards.

I was also gifted with two brilliant movies for our collection: Wind River, and Dunkirk, both released in 2017:

My beautiful wife made my birthday special. I thank God every day for her love and friendship and I am blessed to have her as a companion on this journey through life.
However … I am aware that if I leave my socks on the bedroom floor and neglect to dump them in the laundry basket … I can expect this:
